Not a game, not a screensaver: a little world that carries on by itself. Fish explore, plants grow and visitors come and go, following the time where you are.

Seasons
The seasons follow your calendar: a shift in the light, a visitor and a decoration for each. They return every year, so nothing is missed for good. South of the equator? One switch in Settings turns them around.
Softer, pinker light. A koi may visit, and a cherry branch is in the Shop.
While you were away
When you return, a short note tells you what changed. There is nothing to rush back for: nothing wilts, and no creature is ever lost.

Discovery
Nobody hands you a checklist. Creatures appear when the world is right for them: the right plants, the right hour, the right night of the month.
Journal entry
A pale, drifting visitor that appears on bright full-moon nights.
Fun fact. Moon jellyfish have no brain, heart or bones.
Hints
When the world is almost ready for someone new, a hint appears. Tap one to see who it was.
Collection
Everything you find gets a page: when you first saw it, what it likes, and one small true fact. Some creatures have rare colours to find too. No stats and no levels.

Customization
Choose the backdrop and the sand, plant a forest of ribbon leaves, set a lantern by the rocks. Moving things around is always free.
Some decorations do more than look good. A lantern stone and a water lily, at night, might attract someone new.
Creatures
Each one has its own hours, its own favorite places and its own way of moving. Watch one up close in Observe, give it a name, and your bond grows.
Small goals for when you feel like it: watch a full moon with three creatures, give three of them a name. They wait as long as you like.
Name a creature, watch it, feed the tank, and it slowly grows close to you. Old friends swim up to the glass to say hello.
One new line each day about what is going on: who found a favourite spot, what the season is doing to the light.
Rainy days and full moons, Firefly Nights, Jellyfish Nights at the new moon, and the Fish Migration each spring and autumn.
Sprinkle a little food and watch everyone dash for it. Shells rise in bubbles and land on the sand; they are earned in the tank and never sold.
Take a picture from Observe, with no buttons in the way, and share it. Quiet water and soft effects, each with its own volume.
Light and glow
Sunlight drifts across the sand by day. After dark, some things light up by themselves: castle windows, lanterns, the stripe of a neon tetra. Their glow spills into the water around them.

Across Apple devices
Your aquarium stays in sync through your iCloud account. Each device gives it a different role.

A taller tank and more room to arrange it, with a sidebar for everything else. On a stand, it becomes a small aquarium on your desk.

A full app window, and a menu bar shortcut to check on your world or feed it. The Full Aquarium adds a small Ambient window for the corner of your desktop: it stays quiet and pauses when hidden.
Requires macOS 14 or later
The whole tank, full screen. Pick up the remote to feed, follow a creature or meet who is in the tank, then put it down and let the water be.
